Our study entitled (The Origin of Desert Forts - A Fighter's Palace as an Example) is one of the important and interesting topics, as it sheds light on the knowledge of the origin of the desert forts and their historical depth, and the Muqatil Palace, the subject of the research, is a distinct example from Karbala, the latter is unknown in its origin and geographical location, as well as being mentioned in Numerous historical events, starting from pre-Islamic times until the late times of the Abbasid era. The two researchers tried to locate it in the archaeological area known as (Tulul al-Ukhaidir), which is close to the fortress of al-Ukhaidir by about 2.5 km. This gave us a mixture between the results of archaeological excavations and literary texts, provided by Muslim historians and geographers, to provide convincing results.
