Burial ceremonies in Zoroastrianism

The Zoroastrian religion was characterized by the richness of its religious beliefs and many rituals, including rituals and ceremonies related to death, and adherence to those decrees was considered a necessary condition to reach righteousness and protection from the forces of evil. In its beliefs, worship and ceremonies, including the ceremonies of preparing the deceased and burying his body in an ancient sacred book that the Zoroastrians fully believe in and use as a religious reference frame among themselves. This book is the Avesta. Only out of the 21 books that are not free of omissions, additions, distortions and changes from the original text destroyed by Alexander the Great (356-323 BC) after his overthrow of the Achaemenid state in 330 BC.
