The concept of Japan's interest in Arab studies is no longer limited to one study, but rather includes social, historical, and philosophical studies, and the changes that accompanied this development in Japanese universities, the most important of which are the University of Tokyo and Waseda University. Among the Arabists known for their interest in Arab studies, who focused his research on how to spread Arab and Islamic studies is Toru Miura.
In this research, we show the knowledge of his opinion on the development of Arab studies in Japan through his writings, opinions, and reliance on original sources away from Western Orientalist studies. Toro sent many Arab and Middle Eastern countries to collect sources and translate them into the Arabic language And he transferred his information to Japanese students in Japanese universities to encourage them to study and research the issues of Arab countries and work in translation from Arabic to Japanese, and for this reason his writings influenced Japanese academic thought, the most important of which is the Dictionary of Islam, which produced after him a generation of Arabists interested in Arab and Middle Eastern studies
